Food For Friends

Food for Friends is a fundraising campaign for the Community Development Council of Quinte. The goal is to raise $12,000 to continue our work to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life and health of everyone in our community. We do this by providing access to safe, affordable and nutritious food without social or economic barriers. We also work to heighten awareness and find solutions for urgent and emerging social issues in our community.

Our outreach encompasses all of Hastings and Prince Edward Counties with programs like the Good Food Box, Good Baby Box, Good Food Markets, Community Gardens and Community Kitchens.

Food for Friends is based on the idea that by supporting your local community you are supporting those closest to you. You are building unity in your community and fair and equal opportunity for all through food security and access to basic needs.

In recent months, we have seen an increased need for our programs due to job loss from the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, the donations required to meet that increased need have decreased for the same reason.

The goal of Food for Friends is to build a stronger, healthier community by meeting these needs together. You can help in two ways:

1) Help us fundraise. We are inviting all of our friends to tell their friends about the CDC and to join us in fundraising! The button below will lead you to Canada Helps, our online fundraising platform. You will need to sign up for an account and then you will be guided through setting up your own fundraiser page on the platform. We will provide you with some emails and videos through our Facebook page as well so that you have lots to share with your friends…and if CDC has helped you, please share your own stories as well!

Fundraise Now Through CanadaHelps.org!

2) Give directly. If you are able to give a one-time donation or even commit to a monthly one, it could be helping your neighbour. Simply fill out the form below:
