CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Unloading the Good Food Box
 (4th Tuesday of the month from 9:30-11:30am). This would entail using a dolly and unloading the Good Food Boxes from a truck into our office (65 Station Street, Belleville, Ontario). As well as unloading the fruit and veggie bins from the boxes and stacking the boxes. This volunteer opportunity is two hours a month.

Board Member
This entails going to monthly meetings and making sure CDC activities and programs align with mission and goals.

Packing Site Admin
This would entail coming to the packing site (Fish and Game Centre in Belleville) every 2nd and 4th Tuesday and making sure everyone signs in, sees the safety board, reads Packing Site Policies and Procedures and gets a name tag. Hours would be from 8am-noon twice a month.

Truck Driver
This entails driving a 20- or 26-foot truck and delivering the Good Food Boxes the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, or both. The hours would be from 9-4pm.

Grant Researcher
This is a virtual volunteer job. It involves researching different grants CDC can apply to as a non profit organization. This would entail creating an organized matrix of grant information including deadlines, grant requirements, amount of funding offered and contact info.

Recycling Volunteer
This entails being at the packing site (Fish and Game Centre in Belleville Ontario) every 2nd and/or 4th Tuesday and help fold boxes and sort recycling from produce. The hours would be 8:30-noon.

Bingo Floor Volunteer
This position involves greeting players as they arrive, helping players carry buckets to their seat. It also involves when BINGO is called getting to the designated seat and checking their card. This also involves set up and tear down practices from the Bingo Hall. This position is located at the BINGO Hall in Belleville.

Bingo Cash Position
This volunteer experience entails selling cards to players, accounts/responsible for counting cash from sales, counting and signing for the cash float. This also involves set up and tear down practices from the Bingo Hall. This position is located at the BINGO Hall in Belleville.

FUTURE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Event Planning
Next year is our 35th anniversary as a non-profit and we would like a volunteer to help with our event. This would entail Assist in organizing details such as decor, catering, creating invitee list and entertainment for our event.

Admin for Community Gardens
This is a virtual opportunity. This would involve a volunteer organizing plots for gardeners and responding to emails from gardeners. Registration for plots usually beings around March with gardens being open from May to October.

Diaper Drive Volunteer
This would involve packing diapers in November or December after our Diaper Drive event. It would also involve restocking shelves with donated inventory. This position would be during our hours of operation (Mon-Friday 9:30-5).

Social Planning/Asset Mapping
This would involve helping our Strategic Planner with establishing local schools, establishments and how CDC can get involved with different establishments. This volunteer opportunity could be virtual and as a volunteer you would work extensively with our Social Planning Coordinator.

Fundraising Committee Member
This would involve researching grants and fundraising initiatives for CDC. You would work potentially virtually, coming in for monthly meetings. This Committee brainstorms different available fundraising initiatives and sponsorships that align with CDC-Q’s mission and mandate.
