CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Unloading the Good Food Box
This would entail using a dolly and unloading the Good Food Boxes from a truck into our office (65 Station Street, Belleville, Ontario). As well as unloading the fruit and veggie bins from the boxes and stacking the boxes. This volunteer opportunity is two hours a month (4th Tuesday of the month from 9am-11am)

Board Member
This entails going to monthly meetings and making sure CDC activities and programs align with mission and goals.

Truck Driver
This entails driving a 20- or 26-foot truck and delivering the Good Food Boxes the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, or both. The hours would be from 9-4pm.

Grant Researcher
This is a virtual volunteer job. It involves researching different grants CDC can apply to as a non profit organization. This would entail creating an organized matrix of grant information including deadlines, grant requirements, amount of funding offered and contact info.

Recycling Volunteer
This entails being at the packing site for the Good Food Box every 2nd and/or 4th Tuesday and help fold boxes and sort recycling from produce. The hours would be 8:30-noon.

Bingo Floor Volunteer
This position involves having goodwill with BINGO employees, when BINGO is called getting to the designated seat and checking their card, and also being able to work in a noisy environment. This also involves set up and tear down practices from the Bingo Hall. This position is located at the BINGO Hall in Belleville. CDC-Quinte has 5 BINGO’s a month.

Bingo Cash Position
This volunteer experience entails ensuring the caller is aware of any declared BINGO’s, counting and signing for the cash float, counting and signing for cash/cards received from sellers and recording them. This also involves set up and tear down practices from the Bingo Hall. This position is located at the BINGO Hall in Belleville.

Abundance Ambassador
CDC-Quinte is looking for community enthusiasts to lead the Belleville Abundance Project in the role of “Abundance Ambassador.” The Belleville Abundance Project is a multi-year community building project that will leverage the many gifts and assets of Belleville's businesses, organizations, and residents to improve access to healthy and local food.
An Abundance Ambassador will act as a community leader, meeting with residents, businesses and organizations, and attending community events. You must be available 2-3 hours per week

Fruit Bags
CDC-Quinte is looking for someone who is willing to double bag plastic bags twice a month for the fruit bags for Good Food Box. This can be completed at home.
