Volunteering with The Community Development Council of Quinte is a fun and rewarding experience where you get to work alongside other passionate community minded people!  High school students can also get their volunteer hours.

Over 524 volunteers, volunteering over 2,030 hours were the backbone of the CDC last year.  We couldn’t do it without you, thank you!

Board of Directors

The Community Development Council of Quinte (CDC) is seeking an individual with the ability to work cooperatively to enhance the mission, mandate and goals of CDC. Familiarity with the local business community and/or resource development is desirable. Time commitment is 5 hours per month for board and committee meetings. No board meetings are held in July and August. The Board of Directors meets at 5:30 p.m. on the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the CDC office, 65 Station Street, Belleville.

Good Food Box

Volunteer Drivers to help load and unload a cube van and deliver the food bags throughout Hastings County on the second and fourth Tuesday  of every month.  Some heavy lifting involved.

Volunteer Packers working with a team the second and fourth Tuesday  of every month from 8am-3pm.   Help pack the food bags with a variety of fruits and vegetables.  Handle food gently and hygienically.  Help unload and load bags from delivery trucks and assist with room set-up and clean-up.

Volunteer Good Food Box Depot Assistant working with a team the second and fourth Tuesday  of every month from 1pm to 6pm.  Handle food gently and hygienically.  Help unload bags from delivery trucks, assist with room set-up and clean-up, and help distribute the food bags to customers with a variety of fruits and vegetables.

Volunteer Office Assistant complete administrative tasks for Program Coordinators.

Community Gardens

Our garden location in Belleville has plots that are available for individuals/families to use to grow their own fruits and vegetables. We need volunteers to assist with the maintenance of one garden location in Belleville with weed whacking as needed and checking the level of the water tanks.

Fundraising

Depending on the fundraiser, this would be an occasional position for a specified time period.

Bingo

Some of the duties would be: counting bingo sheets, counting money and computer spreadsheet input.  Bingos are run 4 or 5 times per month in Belleville.  Days are: Mondays 1-4pm, Thursdays 6-9pm and Fridays 1-4pm.
